Testarossa Head Dyno Charts

This chart shows before (66hp) and after (104hp) runs for a 1997 Ducati Monster with small valve heads. The before run has the Monster with Scorpion slip ons, Factory Pro jet kit, and closed air box. The gearing (15/41) and mufflers are unchanged to the after run. The changes to the Monster for the after run are the addition of Dyna Coils and the mods as described in the "maximum impact" section of the 100hp 2V page linking to here.

The Testarossa Heads mods mean conversion of "small valve" heads from "hemispherical" combustion chamber to "bathtub" style, installation of huge valves and seats, as well as Guy Martin's porting in conjunction with the use of a flow bench. Additionally, since the "small valved" Monster uses 750 Cams, ST2 cams were fitted in their place. And because the bike is pre EFI, single Keihin FCR carbs on short intake manifolds replace the Mikuni CV carbs on the long intake manifolds.

This graph shows "Dynojet" hp. This standard is normally used in "Free" dyno days or when the runs are $25.

This graph focuses on the "after" run and is corrected to SAE HP. SAE HP is more normal for use with bragging rights. "Lee's Cycle Racing" is the dyno at Lee's Cycles in San Diego, run by AMA and WSMC racer Jeremy Toye. Their dyno is known to not be "optimistic" and compares well to other Dynojet dynos.
