Being behind

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Hi everyone - Candice has a few days off and we miss her. If response to your e-mail or message takes a little longer, sorry about that! We're hard at work getting orders processed and staying on top of things.

Thanks,
Chris :)

Technology update

Monday, July 16th, 2007

We are working on the transition from Microsoft Windows operating systems (mostly XP) to all Linux OSs (mostly ubuntu). To better serve you, we are making this move away from closed-source, proprietary programs and making the move to open source solutions which enable us greater flexibility.

Some great info:
Free Office-Suite of programs for windows, linux, etc: OpenOffice.org
Other FREE open source programs for windows: site1 - site2 - site3 - site4 - site5
Open source graphics programs for linux. And more. (likely google can tell you about many!)
Ubuntu and Kubuntu are two of many linux operating system distributions.

Season for upgrades!!

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

And for the computers, too! While everyone has been hitting the upgrade season for their bikes, at the same time, a couple of the software programs we use to get your shipments out got updated too! UNfortunately, they haven't been playing well together, causing us some lost sleep. No worries, we see the light at the end of the tunnel — and it is not a train!

Our servers moved…

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

If you’re having problems with the site, it’s because our servers just moved. We relocated to an improved facility. If you have any problems with the order process, please e-mail us with your phone number and we’ll call you. Thanks! Chris

Computer "upgrades" under way…

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

To chase the ever moving target of “upgrading and improving”, we have upgraded our accounting software (And its supporting apps) to the latest versions. This only “broke” everything twice and consumed about 10 or 20 hours of time, so I guess it could have been worse. Thanks for checking in on us! :)

New year kicks off but with a hiccup…

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

As the new year started, we kicked into high gear getting caught up on projects and shipping orders out the door. We have implemented a system to make use of barcodes to speed the invoicing process and it is having excellent results.

Unfortunately, someone has decided to burglarize my trailer and van that I keep at work. The trailer has been broken into a few times before, so it was empty. The van was mostly empty. It had a wheel chock, a plastic tub with 12 or so tiedowns in it, and an invertor. They broke out the rear window and took the tray and invertor but left the chock. Well, there’s something that could have been worse.
