Hey everyone, we've been having small issues with our accounting software. Like many businesses, we are using Quickbooks. Their latest variant, 2006 Pro, has some interesting behaviors and we're spending a lot of time trying to get it to behave well. We take a full weekend off (first one of the year) and are rewarded with being unable to export billing information to our credit card processor! Hopefully, we've uncovered the root of the problem is how QB does automatic updates and when there are multiple licenses across a network, all of the computers have to have the same version. ALSO, the “server” computer has to update in “single user” mode.
What's the uptake? Newer isn't necessarily better and I rather regret spending the $$$$ on it! We've got hundreds of hours into trying to make this software work.
