EK **Black** Chain in stock!

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Your “Dark” Ducati isn’t dark without one of these! We’re excited to announce stocking of the EK BLACK motorcycle drive chains! Not grey-black like other brands, BLACK. We have a picture of one on our silver and black 2003 Ducati Monster 620 and think it would be amazing on a Monster Dark or 749 Dark! This would probably be a great addition to any of the black painted models like the black S2R1000, black and tang S2R800, and black Multistrada MTS1000.

Our catalog page with the chains and sprockets. Also note how the 520 pitch JT sprocket is black and looks sharp with the black EK chain. The EK MVXZ X-Ring chains in black, red, yellow, and other colors are available in 520 or 525 pitch and feature lightening holes in the inner side plates.

Special Projects - SS exhaust and MH900e tank

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

This is a great week for the special projects. I delivered the SS-ie to the exhaust makers and now they've got both generations of SSs as well as all 5 2V engines fitted to the SSie. So we'll be making underseat full exhausts for carby or injected SSs with these power plants: 620, 750, 800, 900, 1000DS.

The fuel tank manufacturer is done with their prototype and we go up to LA tomorrow to visit with them. I'm bringing with me the tank from Zina's MH#21 so they'll have reference to an OEM tank. The tank from #1636 was consumed in the fab process. From here, they'll need to make any necessary changes to the moulds and once finalized, production “only takes a few days”. Then I drive up to LA again and fill up my van and trailer with tanks! After this, we buy all the parts and pieces needed to complete the kits and then arrange a photo shoot for the instructions.

MH900e Tank project

Tuesday, April 11th, 2006

The molds are supposed to be finished up Wednesday, so I'll be able to inspect the final tank outcome on Thursday or later. I'll likely head up on Friday for that. Then assuming there aren't any more delays, it'll be a week for them to make the production run. Next, I'll need to order in all the K&N filters and come up with the instructions. So that's going to be at least another week. Thanks!

Another few late nights…

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Web guy Matt and I are working late all through the weekend. we ran into a snag with the bikes to LA for exhaust R&D project and we get to swap engines. for the bored, I'll hook up a webcam on Yahoo! Messenger on ID ca_cycleworks :)

Projects update

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

Trying to get info on MH900e fuel tank; possibly visiting the manufacturer on Thursday. Massive progress will be made Thursday when all 5 types of 2V engines are delivered to the exhaust maker's facility along with another SS (this one is an ie).

Parts ordered (finally) for the “street” RS that I've promised to Rex. (promised last year!)

Why we lag answering e-mails…

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

Sorry for being so behind!! The whole team have been working double duty helping out with the exhaust system R&D. We had to swap engines for a special project to construct a 1000SS out of a M1000 and a SS750. That's going out to the fab team this week. We're at 20 hours of work this week already…

I'm hoping to get to everyone's backed up e-mails Tuesday… Thanks!!

Super Sport exhaust update

Friday, March 31st, 2006

We just dropped off the prototype MBP exhaust system to a manufacturer. “No problem” was the answer to each question asked. Awesome. When we get dates and $$$ info, we'll post the info. :)

Pizza/Tech event was great!

Monday, March 27th, 2006

Thanks to the DML and DOCSD members who came out on a fine Saturday afternoon to learn about braking technology. Thanks, too, to Jeff Gehrs of BrakeTech for sharing his generous knowledge with us. Thanks also to Jeff for the generous discounts extended to the attendees! :D
